Tauraroa Area School

Tauraroa Area School is a rural Year 1 - 13 school, with an outstanding academic record, set in a quiet and beautiful locality just 22km from Whangarei city, Northland. A recently modernised and extended campus provides all students with state of the art facilities supporting a wide range of learning opportunities. Performance music has a special place at this school, with highly regarded concert bands, jazz ensembles, rock groups and vocal groups being features of our school. In addition to full year placements, we welcome students of woodwind, brass and percussion to apply for a place in our Concert and Stage Band Music Academy which is to run from 14 May to 1 July 2012. This course will culminate in a North Island concert tour, with participation in NZ's largest international annual music festival, Rhapsody Rotorua.

Northland, New Zealand’s northern most region, is known for its stunning beaches and sunshine.

Situated in Northland, approximately 2 hours’ drive north of Auckland, students at Tauraroa Area School benefit from a great climate and access to world class beaches.

Students at all year levels experience academic success in a wide range of curriculum areas.

With a roll of 465 students, the school is large enough to provide a wide range of learning opportunities, but small enough to ensure every student receives individual care and attention.
