Campbells Bay School
Campbells Bay School is a state, co-educational contributing school with students from Year 0 (5 years of age) to Year 6 (10-11 years of age). Since opening in 1925 with a total student roll of 16, the school has grown considerably. The student roll at the end of 2011 is expected to be 700 in this decile 10 (high socio-economic) school. The school is fortunate to have many purpose-built facilities such as a newly opened library and ICT room along with a performing arts centre. The school also has an art room, a large and recently renovated hall, a recently refurbished solar heated swimming pool, plenty of hard-court space and large fields along with a unique Community Forest: a large area of regenerating native flora that was opened as part of the school's 75th anniversary celebrations in 2000. Of course, a school is much more than property. At the heart of the school are people. The Campbells Bay School community is a vibrant, dynamic and supportive one. Examples of this can be found in the talented and supportive Board of Trustees (the governing authority of the school), the Parent Teacher Association (that raised over $40,000 for the school in 2008), the highly professional staff and the 'jewel in the crown,' our wonderful students. Our very supportive school community has not only achieved great facilities for the school, it has also been responsible for excellent teaching programmes that allows our students to achieve so very well.
