Northcross Intermediate School

Welcome International Students:

For many years now we have been welcoming International Students to Northcross Intermediate. During this time we have seen student's arrive from China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korera, Russia, Switzerland, Tahiti, Taiwan and Thailand. Not only do these students broaden their own horizons they also bring a cultural diversity to our school that enriches both our student's and staff. We offer a wonderful learning environment with ESOL support (both in and out of school) and many other specialist subjects. For our Year 8 students who decide to continue their education in New Zealand there are many excellent colleges close by and having gained friendships and experience of New Zealand school life, the transition to Year 9 is often a smooth one.

Northcross prides itself on the Pastoral Care of your child. The Internatinal Office is open Monday to Friday for any queries or concerns the student may have. Our dedicated Accommodation Coordinator Sally Farrell can arrange a caring homestay for your child should they come to New Zealand without a parent. For those students who do come without a parent we do ask that they have an appointed New Zealand based Agent or First Language Support person.

We are living in an ever increasing global environment where cross cultural communication and understanding is the way of the future.
