Linwood College
Linwood College is a co-educational state secondary school located in beautiful Christchurch. The College has a convenient central location and students are able to travel by bus to the city centre in seven minutes. The School is also close to Brighton and Sumner beaches. Linwood College was founded in 1954 and has a multicultural roll of 1000 which includes about 50 International students. Linwood College has an excellent national reputation for its Performing Arts Programme and offers an Adventure Education course which is unique in New Zealand.

Christchurch is the main centre of the Canterbury region, an elegant old city close to the Southern Alps.
Linwood College is located in 8 hectares of landscaped grounds.The school offers first-class facilities including a modern canteen.Complementing the standard classrooms are computer rooms, music suites, gymnasiums and specialist science rooms. There is a modern computerised library and all students have internet access.
The school offers a widerange of subjects optonsfrom Year 9 - Year 13. All subjects in the Senior School offer NCEA credits which lead to univeristy study.Subjects students may choose from include English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemsitry and Physics, Geography and History, Classical Studies, Tourism, Physical Education, Japanese, Media, Hospitality, Graphics, Design Technology with Fabrics and Wood, Economics, Accounting, Infromation Processing and Computer Sudies and Photography.
Extra curricular activities include: Performing Arts including Drama, Music and Choir, Board Games and a Business Development programme. There is also a full range of sporting activiies on offer for students and some students achieve national success in some sports.
Linwood College welcomes international students. There is a full time English Academy available for new students and those wanting to gain academic English credits for University Entrance. Class sizes are limited to allow for personal attention and speedier learning. We provide an ideal learning environment with excellent facilities and modern resources.
New students are tested when they arrive and placed into suitable programmes.
Homestay accommodation is arranged by the school in nearby homes. Qualified staff and first language assistance is available to help and advise new students with any problems at school or at home when they arrive. All students are met at the airport on arrival and taken to their homestays.
Fees for 2010 are NZ$11,000/year. $6000 for two terms and $3,000 for one term..
Homestay accommodation is $210 per week.
