Auckland is New Zealand’s largest city, with 1.3 million people.
The programme is designed to provide an up to date account of approaches to teaching English as a second/ foreign language by examining both relevant theory and best practice. The PGDipLT provides a professional qualification for teachers wishing to specialise in teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language or in teaching other languages. It is suitable for both teachers in New Zealand and overseas.
This is a one-year full-time (or equivalent part time) programme to a total value of at least 14 points. It is open to students with at least two years� teaching experience and a bachelor�s degree. Students who are non-native speakers of English require 6.5 IELTS or equivalent. Students are to complete five required courses plus two elective courses. All courses are assessed through course work; there is no examination.
Students who have completed the Diploma are eligible to enrol for the one year MA.
