Auckland is New Zealand’s largest city, with 1.3 million people.
This programme is designed to provide candidates with trainings at the advanced level including analyses of the contexts of Students, Classroom, and School and Community. A supervised practicum incorporating a portfolio of professional practice enables candidates to demonstrate their achievement of the learning outcomes of the complete programme. The programme consists of, at Master�s level or above, in educational studies to the value of 14 points and may be completed in one year of full-time study.
To be admitted to this programme, applicants need to have: completed a bachelors degree in Education as approved by Senate, or completed a university degree as approved by the Senate, or if enrolling for the Special Needs Resource Teaching programme, completed the requirements for an Advanced Diploma of Teaching, or a Diploma of Teaching, and a Diploma in the Education of Students with Special Teaching Needs, approved by the Senate in any particular case, and completed a professional qualification in teaching, counselling, or relevant other profession approved by the Senate in any particular case, and had not less than three years relevant teaching or other professional experience, and satisfied the Head of the School of Education that they have appropriate training and experience to undertake the course of study. Normally an interview supported by referees� statements and evidence of training and experience in relevant work is required.
