The Postgraduate Diploma in Commerce provides for students who wish to obtain a postgraduate coursework qualification based on the equivalent of one year�s full-time study. It is intended to provide graduates with the opportunity to further specialise in a subject area. The postgraduate diploma may also be recommended as a bridging programme for students wishing to pursue a PhD in a particular department of the school.

The Postgraduate Diploma may be completed in one year full-time or over two years part-time. The Postgraduate Diploma consists of courses worth 14 points in a particular subject at the masters level taken from the Course Schedule for the Degree of Master of Commerce. Up to four courses, however, may be taken from related subjects with the approval of the relevant Heads of Department.

To be admitted to this programme of study, a student needs to have:
� completed the requirements for the BCom degree, or
an approved equivalent
� passed the prerequisites as listed in the regulations for
the intended subject
� achieved above average grades in the Stage III prerequisite courses
Admission to the Postgraduate Diploma is subject to selection and approval by individual departments. Students planning their programme should take into account any prerequisite requirements.
