Kiwi IQ Winners Invade Auckland
Sunday, 14 June 2009
The winners of the recent “Test Your Kiwi IQ” competition held in India arrived in Auckland today from their far-away homes.
Anita Rani, Ibrahim Jhumkewala and Vikash Verma won themselves a fantastic ten day tour of New Zealand by whizzing though a set of multiple choice questions about the country, and then telling us why it’s an awesome place to be a student.
They spent their first afternoon on a sightseeing tour of some Auckland highlights like One Tree Hill and Mt Eden. Both are extinct volcanic cones that make for great viewpoints over the city. The wind was whipping across the hilltops, helping them to ward off jetlag.
They capped off the first day with the ultimate view over Auckland, from the top deck of the Sky Tower. Anita was taken by the beauty of Auckland, and its many green areas. Meanwhile Ibrahim was impressed by how far the city lights seemed to continue in every direction.
The winners checked into the Quadrant Hotel to get some good rest in before the academic side of their adventure begins in the morning. Come back again tomorrow to see what they got up to next!
